🌐 HOMELESS OR WORRIED ABOUT BECOMING HOMELESS?
If you are homeless or at risk of losing your home within the next 56 days, contact us as soon as possible. We are here to support you and will work with you to find the best possible solution.
How we can help
Under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, we will:
✔ Understand your situation
We will talk with you about your circumstances so we can understand your needs and how best to support you.
✔ Work with you on a plan
We will agree a Personal Housing Plan with you, setting out the practical steps we can take together to help you keep or find a home.
✔ Help you keep or find a home
We will support you to:
- Stay in your current home where possible
- Find alternative accommodation if needed
✔ Consider temporary accommodation
If you need urgent support, we will look at whether temporary accommodation is appropriate while we continue working with you.
Support available
We may be able to help with:
- Advice on your housing options
- Support to remain in your current home
- Help finding accommodation
- Access to financial or support services
Where appropriate, we can also refer you to local support services through the Housing Support Grant programme, including:
- Tenancy (floating) support
- Support for young people
- Domestic abuse support
- Substance misuse services
- Mental health housing-related support
These services can help you manage and maintain your accommodation.
Accessing housing options
We will work with you to explore suitable housing options, including social housing and private rented housing, depending on your circumstances and availability.
We may also be able to support you with:
- Rent in advance
- A bond or deposit
- Help to access available accommodation
Our aim is to help you find a realistic and sustainable housing solution.
Working together
We are here to support you and will work with you to try and resolve your housing situation. This works best when we work together, so we ask that you:
- Provide accurate information and any relevant documents
- Take part in developing and following your agreed plan
- Keep in regular contact with us
- Take the reasonable steps we agree together to help secure or maintain accommodation
We understand that circumstances can change, and we will do our best to support you. If you are finding it difficult to complete any of the agreed steps, please let us know so we can review your situation together.
Staying in touch and continuing to engage with us is important, as it helps us provide the right support. If we lose contact or are unable to work together on the agreed steps, it may affect the help we are able to provide under homelessness legislation.
Important to know
- We will always aim to prevent or resolve homelessness where possible
- Different housing options will be explored based on your circumstances
- Contacting us early gives you the best chance of avoiding homelessness
